June 15, 1968

On June 15 we will be married 44 years.  BUT we have been together for 46 years.  I meet my husband one week before I turned I turned 17 years old.  He came to our home to see a friend that was living with us at the time.  Doran came with his younger brother and I had to tell him that Tom wasn't there right now but he will be going to the car races that night so Doran said he will see him there.  BUT Tom didn't go to the races but I did.  I saved a seat for him and his date (someone I didn't like).  That night after the car races was over i went home and told my younger sister if he omes back to the house before noon tomorrow that I will marry that guys and of course she laughter at me.  But Sunday morning about 11:30 am he showed up.  He came back every night and the following week-end was my birthday and he asked me out for that night and of course we had a great time.

This was our first date I just turned 17 and we had gone to a place called the Sky Room which is at the Pendleton Oregon airport.  He gave me a Pearl and Diamond necklace for my birthday and I still have it. I want to pass this on down to my daughter if she wants it.  It means a lot to me.

This was just after the Minster told everyone welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Doran De Graw.  While our Minster was saying the prayer my wonderful husband had SOS and HELP on the bottom of his shoes and everyone started laughting at him.  I knew about it but I didn't think he would really do it but I was wrong.

This was when we tossed my flowers and he did the garter. This well be a day we won't forget and fun day for the both of us.
